Why Choose Hospice?

Choose Hospice for a Better Quality of Life

Choosing hospice as part of a patient’s healthcare journey is a decision that can lead to a better quality of life. Contrary to some misconceptions, hospice is not a death sentence. Many patients live for months or even years after electing hospice care. When curative treatments are no longer effective, hospice offers a path focused on better symptom management, including palliative care, comprehensive medical support at home, enhanced emotional and spiritual care, and additional services that improve quality of life during this stage.

In our view, choosing hospice should not be stigmatized. Instead, it’s a choice that should be made earlier to ease the burden on both patients and their families. Hospice care offers a more coordinated and comprehensive approach, delivered through one provider in the comfort of your own home.

Hospice Coverage and Insurance

Hospice care is 100% covered for beneficiaries with Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage Plans, and most commercial insurance plans. However, Medicare will only cover hospice care if the provider is Medicare-approved. Coverage includes all necessary services related to the patient’s terminal illness.

Where Hospice Care is Provided

Hospice services can be provided in the comfort of a patient’s home, allowing them to remain in a familiar, supportive environment surrounded by loved ones. If necessary, hospice care can also be delivered in a Medicare-certified hospice facility, hospital, or skilled nursing center.
